$While driving back from Homer just after Cooper Landing I spotted a family of moose trying to cross the river. Luckily for us there was a turnout right there, and we screeched our RV to a halt as best we could. 4 other vehicles followed suit and we proceeded to observe and photograph the family.\n\nThe sad thing was that these moose were trapped. The river was running a little too swift for the calves to cross, and the only other way to go was towards the small crowd of people that were watching them from their elevated position on the highway. So they just went back and forth in frustration.\n\nSensing their distress, I did not hang around as long as I would have liked.$
