Snow Geese (front) and Sandhill Cranes (rear) populate a small pond at the entrance to Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge in central New Mexico.  The birds are here between mid-December and mid-February and they easliy number over 10,000.  Get there before dawn to experience the Lift Off of the snow geese from the main pond.
