Sand dunes in the center of Death Valley National Park. Right after we stopped here our "check engine" light went on (it later turned out to be nothing). What better place, though? It was even hot here in October. Death Valley is gigantic. It takes several hours to get from one side to the next, and there's not much to see in between the "popular" stops. I don't think I'd go again unless someone told me I missed something really worth stopping for.
