This is the southern coast of Maui looking at the town of Lahaina. The faded mountain peak to the right of the large one in the foreground is Haleakala. This is an unusually clear day to be able to see the volcano peak. Engulfed almost perpetually in the clouds is Iao Needle. This panorama was taken from a whale watching boat that left from the Lahaina harbor. We saw only a few whales at the end of the season. For more information visit my Maui section.
