Portage Glacier just south of Anchorage, Alaska is a land-locked glacier that created its own lake and streams.  I love the placid reflections peeking through the ice.  The only way to see the glacier is via a single boat tour that we didn't have time to take.  Instead we elected to take the adjacent tunnel to Whittier and see some other tide-water glaciers on a different tour.\n\nFor more information visit my Portage, Alaska section.
