Prev temple_of_the_sun: The Temple of the Sun is special in Machu Picchu for a few reasons. First, it's masonry is of higher quality than the bulk of the structures at the site. It contains niches perhaps for statue placement. Second, it is the only building that is curved. Third, it is the only 2-story building.
