Arrival by Machu Picchu Train

I got on the Machu Picchu Train at Ollantaytambo. The train follows the Urubamba river downstream to the small town of Aguas Calientes, a set of hotels, restaurants, and souvenier shacks to support Machu Picchu. The train actually starts in Cusco and makes several stops along its journey.

The mountain peak in this photo is called Wayna/Huayna Picchu (Old Peak).\n\nIn the foreground you can see the Royal Sector with the curved Temple of the Sun approximately 2/3 the way from the left and just a little bit from the bottom. Just above and to the right of it is the lone tree. The main lawn is featured prominently in the center; to its right is the Common District.
